About this tool
Drop in photos, scans or screenshots and get one PDF with an image on each page. Phone photos are turned the right way up, and nothing is uploaded: the document is assembled in your browser.
How to use it
- Choose a page size and margin.
- Drop your images, then use the arrows to order them and the cross to remove any.
- Click Create PDF and save the file.
Page size and margin
A4 and US Letter scale each image to fit inside the margin and centre it. Images are never stretched, and the page turns landscape when the image is wider than it is tall.
Fit to image gives each page the exact size of its image, so nothing is scaled or padded. It suits screenshots and anything read on a screen; for printing, choose A4 or Letter so the pages are a standard size.
The margin is None, Small (a quarter of an inch) or Large (half an inch), measured on every side.
Photos, orientation and formats
A phone stores every photo in the orientation of its sensor and adds a small tag saying how to turn it. Tools that ignore that tag put portrait photos in the PDF on their side. Here the tag is applied before the image is placed, so what you saw in your gallery is what lands on the page.
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP are accepted, and AVIF where your browser can decode it. Animated GIFs use their first frame. PNG files stay lossless so transparency is kept; everything else is saved as high-quality JPEG on a white background.
Keeping the PDF small
A straight photo from a recent phone is easily several megabytes, so ten of them make a PDF too large to attach to an email.
Images larger than 4,000 pixels on their longest side are scaled down, which is about 340 dpi on an A4 page and is more than printing needs. For a smaller file still, shrink the pictures first with the image compressor, then build the PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my image slightly different from the original?
Images are decoded and re-saved so that orientation can be corrected and any browser-supported format works. JPEGs are saved at 92% quality, which is visually indistinguishable, and very large images are capped at 4,000 pixels on the long side.
Does it work with HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Only where the browser can decode HEIC, which in practice means Safari. In other browsers, switch the camera to Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible, or export the photos as JPEG.
Can I put several images on one page?
No. Each image gets its own page. To combine pages afterwards, use Merge PDF, or Organize PDF to reorder them.
Are my pictures uploaded?
No. They are decoded and placed into the PDF by your browser, and no request containing them is made.
