About this tool
The rotate button in a PDF viewer only changes what you see; the file is the same the next time it is opened. This tool writes the rotation into the document, so the pages stay upright for everyone you send it to.
How to use it

- Choose the angle, and which pages: all, odd, even or a custom range.

Why a viewer's rotation does not stick
Most viewers treat rotation as a display setting, like zoom. To make it part of the file, each page's own rotation value has to be changed and the document saved, which is what happens here.
Only that value changes. Page content is not redrawn or recompressed, so text remains selectable and nothing gets softer.
Common fixes
- A duplex scan where every back is upside down. Choose Even and 180°.
- A landscape table inside a portrait document. Choose Custom, type its page numbers, for example
4, 9, and rotate 90°. - A whole document scanned sideways. Choose All and 90° clockwise, or 90° counter-clockwise if that turns it the wrong way.
When different pages need different turns, it is quicker to see them: use Organize PDF pages, which shows a thumbnail of each page and rotates them one at a time.
Rotation adds up
The angle you choose is added to whatever rotation the page already has. A page that is already turned 90° and is rotated another 90° ends up at 180°. If the result is not what you wanted, rotate the original file again rather than the saved one, or apply the opposite angle to undo it.
Frequently asked questions
Does rotating a PDF reduce its quality?
No. Only the page's orientation value changes. Nothing is re-rendered, so text and images are exactly as they were.
Which way is clockwise?
As if you were turning the sheet in your hands: 90° clockwise moves the top edge of the page to the right.
Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Choose Custom and type its number, for example 3. A list such as 3, 5-7 works too.
Is page 1 odd or even?
Odd. Odd and even are counted from the first page of the document, so Odd covers pages 1, 3, 5 and so on.
